Warning about fraud and impersonation of Global Insurance Corporation - GIC
5/31/2024

The situation of fraud impersonating Insurance/Financial Institution brands is becoming complicated on a large scale in many different forms.

Recently, Global Insurance Corporation (GIC) received information that there are many people impersonating our names and images; taking advantage of GIC's reputation to commit fraud, in order to appropriate the assets of many people and customers through REQUESTS TO TRANSFER INSURANCE MONEY TO A PERSONAL ACCOUNT TO DISBURSE THE SUSPENDED AMOUNT.

The trick that subjects often use is to use photo and text editing software to create documents impersonating GIC's brand, signature and certificate. Then ask the customer to transfer money to a personal account number (actually the scammer's account) under the pretense of disbursing the money the customer will receive. At the same time, there is a commitment to immediately refund this amount after the customer receives the entire suspended amount.

Global Insurance Corporation (GIC) confirms some information as follows:
  • GIC does not provide customer information to outside parties.
  • GIC does not provide Insurance services to disburse suspended funds.
  • GIC does not require transfer transactions to personal accounts.
  • GIC does not have any contact, cooperation or provision of insurance products in any form, directly or authorized, with the individual named Pham Hai Anh.
